Resham Collection Hijab Review

This outfit was inspired by the beautiful hijab I received from Resham Collections. I immediately fell in love with the detail of the hijab with the mix of prints and colors. The hijab is soft and the fabric is very easy to work with. One thin I also really loved which is hard to find these days is the hijab itself is very large. I like this because it allows you to style it so many different ways. Here I wore it with one side extra long and you'll see another way I styled their hijab on my post tomorrow. Hijab Fest 2013

Last week I attended the first annual HijabFest in New Brunswick, NJ. It was a full day of events such as lectures, fashion show, hijab tutorials, shopping and of course food. The event was a lot of fun and I got to see a lot of friends/bloggers. Sania Siddiqui of Simply Covered was in charge of the fashion show and her own segment on how to organize hijabs and she did such a great job mA! There was also a hijab tutorial by Sanah Rashid of ModHijabi where she shared a few of her favorite hijab styles. There were many great designers there for the fashion show and the bazaar and let me tell you, it was really hard not to buy everything. I ended up leaving with two dresses and I can't wait to wear them! 

I wore a long black top with pink shoulder detailing  paired with hot pink pants and black heels. Ever since my favorite black heels ripped at my graduation over a year ago, I have been on the search for a new perfect pair and I finally found something I love. Although my old ones are still my favorite, these definitely come in second place. I love heels with straps and these had such a fun two strap situation going on that I had to get them! Shout out to Ibtihaj and Areefah for taking my outfit pics :)

The event was also full of fashionistas and I managed to take a few shots of some of my favorite outfits at the event. Thank you ladies for letting me share your pictures :)

I know, it's about time I posted! I've been so busy at work that I haven't had the chance to take outfit pics and post like usual! This is an outfit I wore this weekend just for a day of running errands. Comfort was my main goal with this outfit, and it was just that! I've had this jacket for a while and finally got around to wearing it. I love jackets that use different fabrics like this one which was linen with leather details.

Wedding Weekend Part 2

The second night of events was the Nikkah/Wedding. It was a lot of fun for me because Zainab and I got to spend some time with Alia while she finished getting ready for the night. When it was time for the bride to finally enter the hall, we walked Alia in with her family and gave her away to her groom waiting on the beautiful stage. The gold and purple themed backdrop was amazing from the fabrics to the pillars. It all came together so beautifully Alh.

For those of you who know me well, you know I love lace beyond words. I think lace is so timeless and elegant and I can never get enough of it. Needless to say, I also fell in love with this dress just as I did with my Gatsby dress I wore the first night here. When will I ever have a chance to wear white/ivory to a wedding I thought, well, to a desi wedding of course! Since the bride traditionally wears red/gold, I was all set to wear the ivory dress. I wanted to let the beauty of the lace stand out by keeping everything else neutral with a tan colored long sleeve shirt, cream hijab and nude wedge heels . I also wore a red and gold tikka to add just a bit of color. I'm a very matchy matchy person, and finding the right shades for this dress just like the Gatsby dress wasn't as easy as the finished look makes it seem, but Alh it all worked out!
