Hani Hulu Green Machine Juice Recipe

Pre-Ramadan, my brother and I did a 3-day Juice cleanse that really cleaned out or systems and got us ready for Ramadan. Juicing is a process of extracting juice from fruits/vegetables and drinking it to immediately get the nutrients. There is obviously the option of just eating fruits/veggies whole, which will require your body to break down the fiber in the fruit/veggie which is still great for you, but juicing is a great way to detox your body. We completed a 3 day juice cleanse where we drank 1.5 liter of fresh juice per day. You can eat raw things in addition like nuts or veggies, however the juice by itself is recommended for a cleanse.

We bought this amazing cold press juicer from amazon that was the most inexpensive cold press juicer we could find with good reviews. Regardless of the price, it was definitely worth the investment for us. We juice all the time now and started to make our own mix of juices that we actually like the taste of! Here is the first green juice combination we made which actually tastes really good for a green juice- for those of you who've never had a green juice, they are GROSS. Anyone who says these juices are good, is definitely making it up because it just tastes like you're drinking the forest, but we found a good combo of ingredients here to find one that actually doesn't taste too bad.

1 16 oz bag kale
2 stalks celery
1 bunch cilantro
1 bunch parsley
1 bunch mint
2 pkg mini cucumbers
6 apples
6 lemons

Cut everything up in small enough pieces to fit down the feeder nozzle, and you're good to go! The cold press juicer is more pricey and better than regular juicers because you can feed it with the skin and seeds in tact and it is able to extract the most juice from the entire fruit/veggie while disregarding the skin into the waste compartment. This recipe makes about 3 liters of juice which is equal to two days of a juice cleanse. If you want to juice for just one serving, you can juice just a bunch of each item to your tasting and to equal the amount of juice you want. The best part about juicing is there is no right or wrong to it, you can do anything you want! I would just caution when making fruit juices as they can get very high in calories and sugar very quickly!

Has anyone else juiced before? Let me know what recipes you like and if you try this one let me know how you like it! I'm working on perfecting a 'purple' juice with beets and will post that soon!

Floral Fun

Dress: Forever 21 // Hijab: Austere Attire // Necklace & Purse: Aldo // Shoes: Express

I rarely wear long sleeve shirts underneath clothes but one of my exception's is when there are open cut outs that I want to show. In fact, the reason I loved this dress was for the cut outs on the sides and back! I paired it with this beautiful necklace from Aldo which people thought was a part of the dress!

You can probably tell this is a late post from California because of the beaming sun... sigh. TAKE ME BACK!! I spent the day shopping with my cousins downtown and of course wanted to sport some Peeshy Peeshy Meow Jewelry. Both the necklaces I'm wearing and the cuff are hand made by my cousin Fatima. She has quite the eye for unique pairings so I love wearing anything I can get my hands on when I'm in town! People always give me compliments for her unique pieces! Make sure you check out her new stuff on her Etsy Shop and to follow her on Instagram as she always posts her work in progress before they're even finished and up for sale- you can get first dibs!!

Delicate Hijabi - Mustard Skirt Review

Skirt: Delicate Hijabi // Top: Forever 21 // Shoes: Target // Purse: Tory Burch // Necklace: NYC

Ramadan Kareem to all who observe this Holy Month!! I'm a bit behind on posting between work, going to the Masjid and making time to go to the gym, so I apologize for that. I'm sure you can all understand that Ramadan comes first though :). Anyway, I received this beautiful skirt from Delicate Hijabi to do a review on, and I must say I absolutely LOVE it!!! The material is perfect for summer and the feel of the skirt is light and comfortable and the price is a steal!! I paired it with this dress disguised as a top which I've posted on before in my early blogging stages here. I added a fun statement necklace and gold ring to match and kept the bracelet simple since the pattern of the top was already busy. Make sure you head over to Delicate Hijabi to check out all the other great hijabi friendly things they have!
