Hijabi Store Review

Hijab: Hijabi Store // Cardigan & Dress: Forever 21 // Boots: Bakers Shoes

I received a lovely package full of goodies from the wonderful Hijabi Store and I can't wait to share them with you. This is just one of the beautiful hijabs they sent me and I love it so much and I couldn't even wait a day to wear it. It is such a pretty hijab, perfect colors for fall and the material is so comfortable and soft. The hijab can be styled in so many ways and here I tied it to the side like a bow. Make sure to check out their website to see all their hijabs and also stay tuned for their new line coming out soon! Make sure to use the code 'hanihulu15' for 15% off your order for one week.

OOTD: Spikes & Studs

Jacket: H&M // Top: Nordstrom Rack // Jeans: Hudson // Heels: Charlotte Russe

Just a Sunday running errands! I love finding things that match something I already have. I found this purse at Marshall's and fell in love instantly. When I got home I realized I had the perfect jacket and cuff bracelet to match! I love the spikes and studs on the bracelet and purse combined with the leather jacket and boyfriend jeans as it gives an overall rocker look with a touch of femininity paired with heels.

Featured Friday: Sagaleeya

It's been a while since I did a Featured Friday and I can't think of a better person to make a come back with. I fell in love with Sagaleeya's style when I came across her on Instagram a while back and I had to feature her. She is so flawless and unique, mA, and her style is so clean cut and bold. She is a psychology/sociology graduate, but says she has always had a passion for fashion and explains her style as wearing things that she wants and not just because everyone else is wearing it. I love that she explains her style that way because style is truly something unique to each person, and being able to create your own original look is what I call true style. Thank you for letting me feature you darling!

Birthday Brunch

Top: H&M // Hijab Pants and Heels: Forever 21 // Purse: Michael Kors

This past weekend was my moms birthday and our oldest family friends that I grew up with in Michigan joined us for brunch at the Nineteenth in Philly. I'm glad we all came hungry because the food was amazing, and the unlimited desserts were just impossible to pass up. It's safe to say we had our first, second and third share- plus more. The restaurant is on the 19th floor, hence it's name- "nineteenth", and it was so pretty. If you're ever in the area, I highly recommend it as they even change their menus every week. Who knows, we might go back sooner than we think! :)

Meen Motor Sports Race Day

About two weeks ago, my brother, the "the KG Crew" and I attended the AMA Pro Race in New Jersey to support my cousins race team, Meen Motor Sports. I was the umbrella girl for the team, and for those of you who don't know what an umbrella girl does, it's just as it sounds- the girl who holds the umbrella. Basically, once the riders line up on the track, there are "umbrella girls" that hold umbrellas over the rider until right before the race starts. The thing about umbrella girls is that they're usually very 'lightly' clothed in order to increase the viewers and attention just like football has cheerleaders. I however, was a hijabi umbrella girl, and although I did wear my highest heels (not pictured), I was fully clothed in all black with a long cardigan and I still got the job done- I held the umbrella for the rider :) I got to hang out in the pit with the team while my brother and the KG Crew were cheering on the team from the stands with the best posters! Meen Motor Sport's rider Jake Lewis placed second and also ended the season winning rookie of the year! Hopefully next year more people can come out to watch and support, it is really so exciting to watch these races in person and meet the riders. Make sure you check out the KG Crew's music video from the weekend below. It was a lot of fun to finally be a part of one of their videos, these girls are so much fun, and they did such a great job on the video!

DC ISNA 2013

My good friend Nadia and I
Nura of BabyLailaLov and Minnie Detwa

Winnie Detwa, Ibtihaj Muhammad- who is a fencer for the US National team and her sister Faizah
Fatimah of TimaTube - make sure you watch out for her ISNA video. I was able to help her out on it!
Winnie & Siraj who designed her turbanation t-shirts
Yaz the Spaz, Sana Rashid, Nura, me and Aysun
Zainab aka the Hijabi Drill Sergeant of Nadoona and our friend Lujain

Last year I was in California during ISNA so I wasn't able to go, but this year I definitely made up for it. I love when ISNA is in DC because I see so many people that I know since I used to live in the area. This year I also got to meet up with so many other bloggers which made it extra fun. I can't really explain where our time went because really it flew by, but it consisted of a lot of laughing that's for sure. There were so many fashionistas at ISNA and when I look back at it now, I wish I took more pictures. The shopping was endless at ISNA, as it always is, but I seem to always crack under pressure when I'm overwhelmed and I only bought a few hijabs. I wish I bought more now that I think about all the great stuff I saw!! Either way, I was so glad I was able to make it this year, and I can't wait for next year as it will be in Detroit, Michigan. I grew up in Michigan and I can't wait for ISNA to be there iA!
