Floral Pinks

Hijab: Austere Attire // Sweater & Jeans & Purse: H&M // Fur Vest: Forever 21 // Shoes: Target

As usual, I am in LOVE with this Hijab I received from Austere Attire. I love the hot pink with the black as it's bold but pretty & girly at the same time. I paired it with a hot pink sweater and all black everything else to complete the look. I got these oxford shoes from Target on sale for $15 dollars! They are still full price online (linked above) but check out your local Target to see if your's is on sale!

Fashion Fighting Famine 2014 - Orange County, CA

I am so excited to announce that I will be a red carpet correspondent at the 7th annual Fashion Fighting Famine show this coming May 24 in Orange County, CA. For those of you who have been following me for a while, you already know I was at the FFF show last year in CA so this will be my second time attending and I can't wait! Make sure you check out my post from last year here.

There are many great and new events taking place during this years show that I'm excited about.

First, as the main purpose of the whole show is the shopping for a cause. 25% of all purchases made will be given to the cause of the year: Islah. Islah LA is a Los Angeles, California based community restoration initiative rooted in the Islamic principles of social justice. They strive to revitalize community, education, civic engagement, and economic empowerment in South Los Angeles. Find out more about Islah here!

Second, the Challenge Beauty series. The Fashion Fighting Famine (FFF) #ChallengeBeauty Series is a talk show featuring panelists of various backgrounds discussing topics related to women’s empowerment. The series is connected to FFF’s new #ChallengeBeauty Campaign, launched in February 2014, aimed at fostering conversation around how beauty is constructed socially and commercially, and how various women relate to and experience these constructions in their daily lives. The campaign goal is to create awareness, nuanced understanding, and sisterhood around topics such as body image and self-image that affect people on a daily basis. You can see a list of the panelists here. I look forward to sharing how I challenge beauty with you all as well!

Third, obviously the infamous fashion show! Come see the FFF diverse group of models display the designs of designers from all around thew world. I know I'm especially excited to see the world premiere of 14NOV by Yuna Zarai!! See a detailed list of this years designers here.

Next, the FFF artistic showcase. One of the goals of FFF is to support and foster Muslim participation in the arts. To expand opportunities beyond the FFF runway, they've introduced a new Artistic Showcase comprised of submissions that will be displayed at the Fashion Show. Click here if you are interested in submitting work to be showcased!

And last but not least, the Fashion Design Seminar which will be offered the day after the fashion show. This is a great opportunity for those who are interested in learning more about the fashion design industry all first hand from Sumiyyah Rasheed the founder of Ann-Nahari, a modest plus-size fashion line that showcases during New York Fashion Week. Click here for more information regarding the fashion design seminar!

Ticket prices go up May 1st- in two more days! So make sure you get your tickets now!! I look forward to seeing you all there, iA :) Now the hunt for my outfit begins! ;)

The Boyfriend Look

Hijab: Hijabi Store // Everything else: H&M

I received this Hijab from the Hijabi Store (linked above) a while ago and I have been waiting for the weather to get better (because I rarely wear white unless it's spring/summer) and the perfect outfit to wear it with. Everyone knows I love me some studs, and this boyfriend inspired outfit was a perfect pair for the studded hijab. These boyfriend style jeans and mens t-shirt, both from H&M, were a great pair that I felt was still feminine thanks to the lace details on the jeans. It was a perfect outfit for a Sunday stroll around the City. Make sure to check out the Hijabi store to get your hands on this studded hijab (linked above) and much more!

Pop of Red

Hijab: Austere Attire // Dress: Target // Vest: Forever 21 // Sunglasses: Michael Kors // Purse: H&M

I am in love with this bright red hijab I received from Austere Attire. It's so light and comfortable and perfect for more days of warm weather ahead. I highly recommend you check out their site and try a few of their hijabs because you won't be disappointed! Just a disclaimer that the material can be a little bit slippery so some people may prefer to wear a cap underneath. I actually love the material and don't find that I need to wear a cap underneath but just wanted to mention it anyway. I hope you're all having a lovely Tuesday iA :)

The Deserts of Dubai

Hijab: Hijabi Store // Top: Forever 21 // Jeans: Nordstrom Rack

Another fun part of my trip to Dubai was the off roading excursion with my own uncle as the driver. Growing up my uncles always took us off roading in their trucks, but this was the first time I experienced it in the desert sand. It was so scary and so fun at the same time. The desert contrast between the blue skies and almost orange-ish sand is something I will always remember, SubhanAllah it was beautiful.

The hijab I'm wearing is from the Hijabi Store (linked above) and I love it because it was perfect for a desert trip. The color was bright and the coins added a bit of middle eastern feel to it. Make sure you check out their website for more of their beautiful hijabs!

Abu Dhabi - Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque

Dress: Kotyur // Hijab: Forever 21

I'm finally getting around to doing posts from my trip to Dubai back in December/January. I know, I know, so late, but it's better late than never, right?! Visiting the gorgeous Abu Dhabi Mosque was something I had to share no matter how late I was! My two cousins and I decided to take a road trip to Abu Dhabi from Dubai to see the Mosque and I am so happy that we did. It is just absolutely breathtaking and beautiful beyond words. The details on the inside and outside is something that pictures can't do justice in showing, mA. I highly recommend anyone who is relatively near by to make the trip to go visit the Mosque because it's something I can't explain, but something you  just have to see for yourself.
